This project included the review and design of the industrial ventilation systems for this plastic molding plant. This included new summer ventilation, make up air systems and automated controls to maintain area pressure relationships. This also included new rooftop make up air equipment, filtered supply vent fans, power upgrades and structural support modifications. MAGENTA

This project included new dust collection, NFPA 652 dust hazard analysis, hepa filtration, mixer collection hoods, solvent & dosing booths, exhaust, summer ventilation and compressor room ventilation. This included the new rooftop HVAC equipment, power upgrades and structural modifications. The project also included web based automated controls to monitor the new equipment and maintain space pressure. Homewood, IL.

INX

This project included the review and design of corrugation machine ventilation, general summer ventilation, dust collection and compressor ventilation. This included steam exhaust hoods, make up air and supply vents for room pressure and humidity control. This included the new rooftop HVAC equipment, power upgrades, fire protection upgrades and structural modifications. The project also included web based automated controls to monitor the new equipment and maintain space pressure. New Lenox, IL.

WestRock

This project included new dust collection systems, process HVAC systems, hepa filtration, process low humidity control and plant compressed air heat recovery systems. Other systems include process steam, warehouse heating and summer ventilation. This included the new rooftop HVAC equipment, power upgrades, fire protection upgrades, fire alarm upgrades and structural modifications. The project also included web based automated controls to monitor the new equipment and maintain space pressure. Sycamore, IL.

Tate & Lyle

This project included a review of the entire complex HVAC systems for both the plant and the office areas. This included an energy analysis, process ventilation and process heating systems. The plant heating was consolidated and Federal Signal received significant utility incentives from both ComEd and Nicor. This included the new rooftop HVAC equipment, power upgrades, fire protection upgrades, fire alarm upgrades and structural modifications. The project also included web based automated controls to monitor the new equipment and maintain space pressure. University Park, IL.

Federal Signal

This project included a review of the entire HVAC systems for both the plant and the office areas. This included an energy analysis, process ventilation and process heating systems. Through our Hawkeye Energy Solutions division, the project included a new building automation system and metering systems to permanently monitor energy and utilities in real time. Chicago, IL.

Tootsie Roll

This project included a review of the existing tower water system serving process heat exchangers as well as two existing chillers. The new tower water system was upgraded and re-designed to match the expanded capacity of the process while conserving energy with multiple modes of operation, variable speed drives and automated controls upgrades. Parker Hannifin

Crown Metal is a leading supplier of store fixture hardware and many custom metal parts. Their current 120,000 square foot manufacturing plant was served by two large very inefficient make-up air units. United Engineering analyzed the facility and designed a more efficient system using high temperature direct fired heating technology. This project is estimated to reduce heating costs by up to 40% and provide a payback in less than one year. Elmhurst, IL.

Crown Metal

This facility processed various pharmaceuticals including Class 1 narcotics located in a DEA vault. United Engineering added air conditioning to the production and DEA vault areas. This included the new rooftop HVAC equipment, power upgrades, fire protection upgrades, fire alarm upgrades and structural modifications. United Engineering reviewed, designed and construction managed this project from start to finish. Buffalo Grove, IL.

Shire Roberts Pharmaceuticals

This project was a retrofit of a 2,000 square foot class 100,000 clean room. United corrected pressurization issues in both the production and anti-rooms. The renovated clean rooms were designed to IEST standards. Gary, IN.

Smiths medical

The Edelstone Hall project consisted of a HVAC system review based on existing system design. The purpose of this extensive review was to re-commission the system back to it's intended design performance. This was a 30,000 square foot, two story facility. Chicago, IL.

The Harper Hall project consisted of HVAC design to integrate their heating and cooling systems to a new campus wide district chilled water system. United Engineering designed multiple air handling systems using the new district chilled water system and existing steam lines. This was a 28,000 square foot facility. Chicago, IL.

These City of Chicago Public School projects consisted of renovation HVAC design. The Metcalfe & Randolf school projects both consisted of retrofitting plant electric heating systems to gas fired hot water systems. This included changing electric coils out with new hot water coils and adding new hot water boilers. Extensive work on school code concerns and ventilation was completed as well. Chicago, IL.

Metcalfe School and Randolph School

This renovation project converted an old Sherwin Williams paint manufacturing facility into the headquarters for a large privately held church organization. Salem Baptist Church is an organization led by Reverend (and State Senator) James Meeks. This project involved performing energy calculations to determine how to convert the existing manufacturing facility to a completely new use including offices, assembly areas and classrooms. There was pressure from the new owners to re-use the extremely oversized paint plant ventilation equipment for comfort cooling and heating. Working through multiple energy analysis scenarios, United was able to justify the demolition of the old 'plant' ventilation equipment and the installation of new more energy efficient equipment.
